Porcelain Doll with textured overlay on face.

Sighters

This collection is of porcelain doll images with various textures applied via Photoshop. This collection began as an assignment and was expanded on as a personal project.

By applying various textures from important places in my life, I am combining a childhood gift with my personal history. This creates a sense of whimsy and creepiness, which prefectly describes my experiences in my youth.

Paralympic Icons

These icons were designed for the Summer 2020 Paralympics to be hosted in Japan. They were created using Adobe Illustrator and were a project for Graphic Design.

As someone who is part of multiple minority populations, I highly value inclusive design. This is why many of these illustrations were inspired by paralympic athletes of past games.

Blenders

Various media was created to showcase the music series, Blenders, located in Swift Current. Tickets, posters, and social media were some of many projects involved.

The variety of projects were both a challenge and a blessing, as they built the largest body of work I've created to date.

MJA

Inspired by an assignment in typography class, these typefaces were created to be used separately or together. With three typefaces to combine, a good variety of fonts can be created.

Each typeface was designed to reflect an aspect of acute stress response, also known as the fight-or-flight response. The less spoken of third response is freeze which aims to not draw attention to itself.

Dissociation

Using type in motion, I explored the feelings associate with symptoms of Dissociative Identity Disorder. These symptoms included depersonalization, identity fracturing, and switching.

This provided me an opportunity to creatively explore sharing a personal experience with an audience who may not have knowledge of these symptoms otherwise.
